Fall Out Boy's 2009 Hiatus: the break the band needed. Welcome to my final blog post about the band Fall Out Boy! I thought I would head for a wee 'change in direction' from the usual, happy and joyful side of the band. In this blog post, I'll be talking about the band's 4 year hiatus, their reasonings for such and how this was able to bring the members closer together. FOB's  Folie á Deux Album In 2009, as one of the most successful pop-punk bands of the 2000s Fall Out Boy had released a statement exclaiming they would be on an indefinite hiatus. After 10 years of blood, sweat and tears (touring and releasing new albums) the band had come together and decided that it would be best for them to part ways. Little did they know that this would become a crucial event for each band member's personal and professional development.  Following the release and potential downfall, of the band's most recent album Folie á Deux,  Fall Out Boy had made their hiatus off...

FOB Albums!

Fall Out Boy Albums ~ This blog post will go into some of Fall Out Boy’s popular albums, when they were released, songs and my personal opinion on each!! Take This to Your Grave ~  Take This to Your Grave is the debut studio album released by Fall Out Boy, the band’s first release under the Fueled by Ramen label. The album was released on May 6, 2003. The record’s title was inspired by the lyrics “Take this to your grave, and I’ll take it to mine”, taken from the track “The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes” from the album. Some of the most well-known  songs featured include: ~ Dead on Arrival ~ Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy ~ Saturday ~ Calm Before the Storm (Take This to Your Grave Version) ~ “Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today” Out of probably all Fall Out Boy albums I would rate this one around a 7/10, with my favourite song of the album being Grand Theft Autumn/Where Is Your Boy. This album was able to solidify the band’s unique blend of emoti...

The Beginnings!

Image
Fall Out Boy Early Years ~ Fall Out Boy have been a staple within pop punk and alternative rock culture dating back to about 2001... over 20 years ago! Currently, the band involves their main singer and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Joe Trohman and finally drummer Andy Hurley. Since their debut album "Take this to your grave" became a huge success for the band, it has then paved the way for Fall Out Boy to shine against other alternative rock bands.  ヽ (•‿ • ) ノ During the early 2000s, Fall Out Boy had started out as a small pop-punk duo consisting of Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman. From Trohman’s recent memoir “None of This Rocks: A Memoir”, he exclaims that with Wentz as the bassist and him taking the role of main guitarist, the band itself lacked a drummer as well as the dire need for a main singer.  Fortunately, Trohman had met Patrick Stump by chance at a bookstore in Wilmette and were able to bond over their enjoyment of th...
